New Comic Day 11.3.2010

Welcome to another Wednesday.

Some apology for the sporadic nature of posts in the last couple of weeks. Outside of the "series" posts on Mondays and Wednesdays, I've been having a hard time coming up with anything to write about. Well, nothing that didn't seem like a carbon-copy of prior posts.

Yeah, I'm still in a bit of an existential crisis, and I don't want to be the guy that just writes to bitch about things. I'll leave that to Don Hall. LOL!! (Love ya, Don...seriously.)

Anyway...Here we go with Mark's comics for this week;

Batman & Robin #16 ($3.99)
Written by GRANT MORRISON
Art by CAMERON STEWART
Cover by FRANK QUITELY
1:25 Variant cover by ETHAN VAN SCIVER

Don't miss this fantastic finale as BATMAN AND ROBIN's storyline connects with THE RETURN OF BRUCE WAYNE! The climactic showdown between Batman and the Black Glove is finally here. It's payback time for The Dark Knight as Batman and Robin face the ultimate evil. Will Damian betray his father's legacy? Will Bruce Wayne return just in time to see Dick Grayson die? Plus, The Joker and Professor Pyg!

This is only the beginning of a startling new status quo for the Batman…

Ok, here we go...the place where, supposedly, all of Grant Morrison's lunacy with the Batman line for the past two years will wrap-up, be explained, and we'll all realize what a genius he is.

Y'know, just like Final Crisis...Oh, wait...Dan Didio just asked me to ixnay on the inalfay isiscay. OK, Dan.

This also supposedly sets us up for the Batman, Inc. franchise plan. Which, again, Dan Didio is sitting here telling me is going to be the COOLEST THING, EVER!!!!

Um, I'm starting to doubt you, Dan.

Brightest Day #13 ($2.99)
Written by GEOFF JOHNS
& PETER J. TOMASI
Art by IVAN REIS, PAT GLEASON,
ARDIAN SYAF, SCOTT CLARK
and JOE PRADO
Covers by DAVID FINCH
1:10 Variant covers by IVAN REIS

Don't miss the hottest event in comics as BRIGHTEST DAY continues with the search for a new White Lantern. And Martian Manhunter returns to Mars as we discover the origin of the creature mysteriously stalking him. Plus, the evil within Firestorm now haunts Professor Stein! And Hawkman: betrayed!

So, I'm beginning to feel like I may be in an abusive relationship here. I was all set to drop this, but then the last issue kinda kicked my ass. Fine. Boys, you get another shot.

But the ice is thin.

Jonah Hex #61 ($2.99)
Written by JUSTIN GRAY
& JIMMY PALMIOTTI
Art and cover by JORDI BERNET

Jonah Hex is many things to many people: a bounty hunter, a cowboy, a gambler, a stone-cold killer. But to Mai Ling, Jonah Hex is something else: her husband! Could this be true? Has Jonah Hex finally settled down?

Jordi Bernet is back!! Excellent!

Go get this book. It's genius. I've said it a thousand times.
